My blind date + the chance to thank you

My Valentine’s Day launch of The Chase at Brighton Court in Sydney promises to offer attendees top entertainment as well as free pink sparkling wine and cupcakes!

I’m so grateful to established romance author Cathleen Ross, who has kindly stepped in to interview me at late notice after work commitments stole my other launcher away …

An award-winning romance author for more than 20 years, Cathleen has writing interests which span historical to contemporary fiction and sweet to spicy, with a few hot highlanders sprinkled into the mix!

Here’s her bio: Cathleen Ross is a published author with Harper Collins, Random House and Entangled Publishing (Macmillan). Her first book, Man Hunt was a runaway best seller on the Virgin Publishing website in 2001, now Random House. Since then she has written for Harper Collins and Entangled publishing, plus has done many self-publishing projects. She is a finalist and winner of several American and Australian awards, the most recent being 2nd place in the Australian Romance Readers Award for Best Historical Fiction 2024 for An Unsuitable Bride.  She writes in both historical and contemporary romance.

Cathleen and I have yet to meet, so it feels a bit like a crazy blind date! Who knows what we’ll end up discussing when we meet at 2pm on Saturday 14 February at Galaxy Bookshop above iconic Abbeys bookshop in York Street in Sydney’s CBD, opposite the Queen Victoria Building!

Please join us for this adventure if you’re anywhere nearby. It’s my opportunity to thank you in person for your interest in my work. Bring your own hot highlander or blind date! Friends, family, writers and readers … all are welcome. RSVP to assist with catering.

Meet me online

I’m conscious that most of my readers live in the US and other parts of the world, and not in Sydney, where we’re enjoying raindrops on frangipani flowers and other summer gifts. So you’re also welcome to meet me online!

Raindrops on frangipani flowers in Sydney's summer

Perhaps I’ll “see you” on the Facebook Cozy & Sweet Blissful Reading Group ahead of Tuesday 27 January. As Author for the Day, I’ll be chatting about Summer Beach, the first in my Escape to the Coast series, in line with the group’s theme of new beginnings.

Then, on Tuesday 10 February, I’ll be Global Girls Online Book Club “Author for the Day.” It’s a great online space to chat with authors and readers of all genres.

For both engagements, please note that Australian Eastern Standard Time is 15 hours ahead of Chicago and 10 hours ahead of London. I’ll do my best to respond to comments in the following days.

Meet me out west

Super excited to meet Western Australian readers for the first time at the Australian Romance Readers Association Romantic Rendezvous panel and book signing in Perth, Australia, on Sunday 29 March 2026. Book here. Please use this Amber Jakeman novel pre-order form to avoid disappointment.
