Recently I had the privilege of thanking some of my readers in person as I launched my latest book in Sydney – The Chase at Brighton Court.
Yes! For this Valentine’s Day, love was in the spotlight well beyond the free pink fizz, cupcakes and chocolate hearts.
I was able to thank award-winning author Cathleen Ross for chatting with me about The Chase and to thank Galaxy Bookshop for hosting, as well as thank readers, friends, family and other authors for their loyal support.
While we had a lot of fun, giving thanks is also a serious business. Without your encouragement, my books would never have made it out of the “half-finished projects” pile. Do you have one of those? Patchwork, knitting, crochet, embroidery, fancy cooking, playing the piano or flute … they’re all still in my “to do” pile. These days, it’s so much easier to let my characters find the time for that!
Please enjoy these photos of our happy day.
And thank you to the mystery person who sent the beautiful flowers!

Introducing Fiona McArthur
I’m delighted to introduce to you fellow Aussie author Fiona McArthur, whose specialty is Australian outback medical heroes, with “love, smiles and lots of drama”.
Have a look at some of Fiona’s books! You’re welcome to download your free copy of Dr Bennett’s Babies here. It’s a sweet medical romance, about midwifery and the beach.
Meet you online or in person
I head west in late March to sign my books at the Australian Romance Readers Association Romantic Rendezvous in Perth, Australia, on Sunday 29 March 2026. Book here. Please use this Amber Jakeman book pre-order form to avoid disappointment.
