There they are, like slices of golden summer sunshine, awaiting our book launch!
Deepest thanks in advance to ABC Australian Story producer Vanessa Gorman who will interview me at the launch of Summer Beach at 3pm on Sunday 25 June.
Vanessa is herself an accomplished author who has traveled the world contributing to our understanding of science and culture through her work with the Australian Broadcasting Commission.
Enormous thanks, too, to Better Read than Dead, the literary landmark at 265 King Street, Newtown, NSW, Australia, less than 200 metres from Newtown Railway Station. King Street is served by regular buses.
In the heart of Sydney’s popular Inner West, Better Read Than Dead was named the Lonely Planet’s “favourite Sydney Bookshop” and has thrived for more than two decades, nourishing thinkers and readers with their specially curated collection of books and regular author and community events.
You are warmly invited! The launch is free. Please book here or below to help us plan catering.
Glad to write about love
It was great to see the Sydney Writers Festival include a panel this year on one of the world’s most popular genres — romance.
The “In love with romance” featured Freya Marske (A Restless Truth), Saman Shad (The Matchmaker) and Wiradjuri councillor turned fiction-writer Yvonne Weldon (Sixty-Seven Days), with ABC radio host and self-professed romance novel addict Rudi Bremer.
While some people dismiss love stories as “just romance”, where does that leave Jane Austin’s classics and a staggering collection of successful novels, movies and network series, most of which revolve around a love story?
Most of us agree that love makes the world go around.
You might enjoy this Vulture Books interview with US bestselling romance author Emily Henry, a new darling of the genre.
Thanks to The Book Nest, Mudgee
Mudgee, billed as “the vines divine” in the NSW Central West region, is a centre of fine wines, passionate chefs, artisanal produce and beautiful accommodation, all surrounded by fresh air and super scenic countryside.
I’m delighted to share with you that readers can now find my House of Jewels series paperbacks in The Book Nest, 90 Church Street, Mudgee, a book haven which also hosts regular book clubs for diverse genres.

I love independent bookshops! They’re brilliant gift shops, and wonderful places to browse and make a purchase to enrich your life and grow your mind with knowledge and some healthy escapism. Bookstores are the heart and soul of many communities.
Big thanks once again to the team at The Book Nest for stocking my House of Jewels series, along with Galaxy Bookshop above Abbeys at 131 York Street in Sydney’s CBD (opposite the QVB), Better Read Than Dead in Newtown and to Tea At Elevenses in Cessnock!
Another invitation!
Please join me at cosy cafe and bookstore Tea At Elevenses, 49 Vincent Street, Cessnock, NSW, this coming Saturday 10 June from 3.30pm to 5.30pm, and afterwards, for some tea, coffee, sparkling wine, cake, signings and good book chat.

Summer Beach review excerpt
I’m forever grateful to those of you who’ve enjoyed my books and recommended them to family and friends and/or shared a review or two.
Big thanks to advance copy reviewer Trudi in the US who writes of Summer Beach:
I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed. Sam and Jake will become your new friends and you will find it hard to stop reading.
Summer Beach is a sure winner with every possibility of finding its way to the Hallmark Channel to be presented as one of their starring Saturday Night Romance Movies. Please do not pass this one up but instead put it on the top of your reading list.
As thousands of you won’t be able to make the Summer Beach launch due to living elsewhere on the globe, here are some links for finding it online (you can preorder before the launch):
A true treasure
I was astonished to receive this exquisite home-made card from Gail, one of my US readers.
The photo barely does this three-dimensional creation justice, but I wanted to share it with you as I add my heartfelt thanks to Gail for sharing her imaginative gift with me so generously!

What a steady hand! What creativity! I am in awe. The pop-out card features scenes and items from my House of Jewels series. Thank you, Gail. You are the treasure!
