Sophie Green writes with heart … (+ free sample links)

… and I could not be happier to announce that Sophie will launch my Plus One at Brighton Court with me at Willoughby Library on Saturday 24 October between 2pm and 3pm. Please join us!

I have long enjoyed Sophie’s novels and admired her writing style. She takes readers straight to the heart of her main characters – women of all ages – as they deal with the expectations of others, the consequences of their decisions, and the whims of circumstance.

In her much-loved novels, which include The Inaugural Meeting of the Fairvale Ladies Book Club, The Shelly Bay Ladies Swimming Circle, Lessons in Love at the Seaside Salon and most recently The Frock Shop, Sophie invites us into her characters’ neighbourhoods and minds to expose their doubts and disappointments, as well as their struggles and triumphs.

What a joy to discover that Sophie practices the same kind of kindness her best characters extend to each other! Find all Sophie’s books.

Please join us!

I’d also love to see you on Saturday 29 November at the Global Girls Online Book Club annual reader/author event in Merrylands. Please find out more and book here.

Spot Sophie and me below in the line-up of authors at last year’s GGOBC annual event. Hint: Pink and red!

I’d also love to see you in Canberra on Sunday 14 March and in Sydney on Sunday 20 March for the Australian Romance Readers Association Romantic Rendezvous 2027.

Meanwhile, back at Brighton Court

First we met Lucy and Dirk, in The Chase at Brighton Court:

The Blurb: Later in life is for second chances.

All enterprising divorcee Lucy Beston wants is her own place to call home. When her rental at Brighton Court goes up for sale, she’s determined to buy it.

Silver fox widower Dirk ‘The Doc’ O’Connell is keen on his stylish new neighbor, but his best friend insists she’s a gold digger.

A revenge dress. A ball. And the moment Dirk must summon all his skills to save Lucy’s life …

Then we met Ange and Davey, in Plus One at Brighton Court:

The blurb: From fake date to the perfect match?

Jobless and dateless, teacher Angelica Martin hates her neighbour Davey Carmichael for revving his motorbike outside her window before dawn.

But the #hotchef with a #troubledpast is a perfect #fakedate for her bossy sister’s Christmas event.

Before long, Davey craves a real date with her.

Facing her own home truths, Ange must toughen up to win some work – fast.

What will it take for the newly empowered Ange to give Davey a real seat at her family table?
